Feature Writer Terms of Service

ArticlesOn (AO) strives to provide high quality articles for our readers and publishers. We are currently in need of Feature Columns in the following topics. (If you have an idea not listed below please feel free to submit it anyway. We will review it and let you know if it's accepted.)

AO appreciates our writers that provide the kind of quality content that our readers and publishers want to use. We'd like to give them a little something extra if they are willing to become Feature Writers for us.

Feature Writers must commit to writing a regular column for ArticlesOn. We will release articles from Feature Writers, first in our e-zine currently going to more than 30,000 subscribers from all over the world, then to the article databases on AO and WWIO and in our blogs.

Feature writers will receive an extended biography and, if they wish, may have their photos and/or company logos included on their profile page and in their resource box for free.

As the Feature Columns are released on AO our editors will optimize them for search engines and then hand submitted them to several high profile search engines and directories.

Feature Columns ALWAYS remain at the top of our directory index so our writers receive the highest visibility.

Feature Writers MUST agree that the content they provide will be released on ArticlesOn FIRST before it is released to any other web site, except the authors. We do not want Feature Articles that can be found on a multitude of other article directory sites. There are two options for releasing your articles.

1. Exclusive - Limited - You agree that your articles will be exclusive to AO for at least 30 days. This means that you will not allow any other article directory or site similar to ArticlesOn to publish your material for 30 days from that time it is approved and released in our directory.

2. Exclusive - You agree not to use the articles you write for AO on any other site other than your own. Article directories and similar sites may NOT publish the Feature Columns you write for ArticlesOn.

   Writers that agree to Exclusive rights will receive additional benefits.

   • A link of their choice (one for each Exclusive article they write) on a PR4 or PR5 ranked page (of our choice) on our sister site World Wide Information Outlet for as long as they remain a Feature Writer for AO.

   • As an added benefit, we will mention at least one of our Exclusive Feature Writers in every press release, publicity piece and article written about ArticlesOn so they may gain additional publicity.

   • Exclusive Feature Writers will also have their columns submitted to an additional list of search engines and directories by hand after optimization.

We offer three unique Feature Column opportunities.

1. Monthly Column - You must agree to submit 12 articles. Two articles are required when you first sign up. Then you must submit one article each month for 10 months on/or before the 1st of the month.

2. Biweekly Column - You must agree to submit 26 articles. Six articles are required when you first sign up. Then you must submit at least two articles each month for 10 months on/or before the 1st of the month.

3. Weekly Column - You must agree to submit 50 articles. Ten articles are required when you first sign up. Then you must submit at least four articles each month for 10 months on/or before the 1st of the month.

   NOTE: You may submit more articles then required if you choose to do so. For instance, if you already have 12 articles that would make a great 12 Month Feature Column, then you could submit them all at once if you wish. Remember, they cannot be previously used articles.

If our editors accept the idea we will contact you about it. In the meantime, please feel free to upload the first set of articles here.

NOTE: Please type the word FEATURE as the FIRST word of the article summary so we will know to look for and review your idea immediately.

Author Terms of Service

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: If what you are submitting is a Press Release, PLEASE CHOOSE THE PRESS RELEASE CATEGORY. We will accept it there. Do NOT try to disguise your PRESS RELEASE as an article. We will delete any that are!

By accessing, submitting articles to, and/or using ArticlesOn (AO), you signify your agreement to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these Terms of Service, please do not use this site.

Authors hereby acknowledge and agree with the following Terms of Service:

1. You maintain the copyright to your article.

2. You will receive a byline with each of your articles and you may add a link to your site and/or e-mail address at the end of your article.

3. Your article must be content rich. It cannot be a press release, sales letter in disguise or "puff piece" for your own self-promotion.

4. You agree that you will NOT receive compensation for the use of your article other than the self-promotion for you, your products and/or services in your biography.

5. Articles submitted must be in good taste. AO reserves the right to determine what is "in good taste". AO and its editors reserve the right to refuse any information for publication. We do NOT tolerate or accept articles that have personal attacks, hate or bigotry, religious, ethnic and racial intolerance in them. We reserve the right to reject any article submission for any reason.

6. Recently we have been getting a lot of inappropriate content and have had to implement the following rules. We ask that you do NOT submit articles:

   • Generated by article creation software or web sites! If you didn't write the article (or have it ghost written for you) then we do not want it.

   • If your resource box leads back to a site that was created by Directory Generator, Traffic Hurricane, MetaWebs or other such software and IF that site offers NO content other than links scrapped from the web.

     VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: If you attempt to submit articles such as those above, we will ban you from AO submissions.

7. Publishers are REQUIRED to leave the author's information and copyright in their publication. AO will do everything it can to ensure this but we cannot guarantee all visitors will follow the rules.

8. Your articles may be used by any visitor (who follows the rules) to AO's site on their personal or business web site and in their e-zines and blogs free of charge and without having to ASK your permission directly.

9. AO will not make any major corrections to your article. It is your responsibility to ensure spelling, grammar and punctuation is correct. We may do minor corrections and layout only. We will reject any work that requires major revisions.

10. If we find a copy of your article, that was obviously obtained from AO, on an inappropriate site or used improperly, we will request that the offender remove the article immediately. We will notify you so that you may pursue the matter if they do not remove your article.

11. AO will make your article available on our server free of charge to you. Your article will remain on AO as long as you allow it. Should you decide that you do not want to be a contributing editor at any time all you have to do is send a notice telling us so. We will remove your articles immediately! Or you can simply log in to your writers control panel and delete your account yourself.

12. We will list the pages of AO with major search engines, but do not guarantee placement or that your page will be listed at all.

13. You may promote your article on AO using any acceptable marketing method on or off line. (Unsolicited E-mail is not an acceptable marketing method and we will delete your article(s) from AO if you use this method.)

14. RULES FOR LINKS WITHIN YOUR ARTICLE: (Please use your resource box for all self promotion.)

    • If you choose to recommend a product or service within your article, please do NOT use an affiliate link to do so. You may link directly to the product, eg. http://www.garagesaletip.com but may not use a link that you will earn money from.

    • You may not submit articles that contain affiliate links throughout the article. These articles will be deleted.

    • You may not submit articles that contain hidden links, eg. GarageSaleTip.com. These articles will be deleted.

    • You may not submit articles that contain hidden links to keywords you are trying to associate with your article, eg. garage sale information. These articles will be deleted.

    • You may not submit articles that contain links to products and/or services that you own, are affiliated with or that you earn income, credit, points, etc. from. These articles will be deleted.

15. You may not submit articles that are considered to be "in the Public Domain". These articles will be deleted.

16. You may not submit articles that were obtained from Private Rights sites as they are written. These articles will be deleted. NOTE: You MAY rewrite the entire article and submit it as your own if the Private Rights site license agreement allows this.

17. AO is advertiser supported and we reserve the right to place advertisements on the same pages where your articles appear.

Publisher (Content User) Terms of Service

Disclaimer to Publishers (Content Users):

Authors' maintain the copyright to their articles and the content is strictly their opinion. You are advised to use this material "at your own risk".

Content within ArticlesOn (AO) is for information purposes only. Legal and medical information within AO should be verified by authorities in those fields. AO cannot be held liable for any injures, physical or otherwise, due to the use of the free information from within this site.

Usage Terms:

1. Should you use any material from AO, we ask that you leave it intact as written, including our sponsorship paragraph, the author's byline, biography (also called a resource box) and copyright in its entirety.

2. Please leave all links within the article and resource box active. Deactivating them is a violation of these Terms of Service.

3. Do NOT change the links within the article to your affiliate links. If the author has an affiliate program you may, with their permission, change links for that program to your affiliate links. Changing links without the author's permission is a violation of these Terms of Service.

4. All content found on AO may be used on web sites, in e-Zines and Blogs without seeking permission from the author as long as you follow the rules above. However, you must obtain written permission from the author for use of their articles in traditional print media to include, newspapers, printed newsletters, magazines AND for use in electronic media such as CD's, diskettes, e-books or any other form of distribution not covered in this paragraph.

5. The Content may not be used on web sites, in e-zines or blogs which:

   • Provide material that is offensive to the online community, including expressions of racism, hatred, prejudice, bigotry, or profanity;

   • Display material that exploits children or adults of any age;

   • Promote or provide instructions about illegal activities (eg. making bombs, where to buy weapons, how to steal software), or promote physical harm or injury against any group or individual.

   • Contain nudity or pornographic material of any kind;

   • Our articles may NOT be used on servers that have Terms Of Service agreements that allow the owners of those servers to use, change, add to or take possession of our content in any way, shape or form. If you are using a free server such as Yahoo/GeoCities, iVillage, FreeYellow, etc. PLEASE read your TOS carefully before putting any content from AO on them.

6. Content under the Syndicated Content category may NOT be copied from this site to be used on your site or in your blogs or ezines. You MUST VISIT THE AUTHORS WEB SITE and obtain the proper code to add it to your sites.

7. Finally, you agree that you will not use any article on AO in any package or as part of any electronic book, booklet, member only site, collection or other medium where you charge a fee for the material UNLESS you obtain permission from the author to do so. And...

8. You may not represent the material as your own.
