Having a difficult time deciding on what cell phone model to buy? Can’t decide on what model to get? Are you torn between various models that all appear functional and well-designed? Here are some suggestions to help you get what you really need.

WHAT TO BUY
First consider what you want to buy. If you don’t know what’s currently available in the market, use websites to see the differences between cell phone models. Browse around and narrow down what you want to purchase. Visit stores or outlets at the mall. Do you need a cell phone with a camera, an MP3 player, and tri-band capability? Or is size the only thing that matters to you? Decide how much you can really afford to spend on a new cell phone and then don’t allow yourself to exceed your limit.

An excellent idea is to list the cell phone features you really must have. If you have a stretched budget and already have a digital camera, then maybe you can get a model that does not have a camera. If you also have a separate MP3 player, then maybe you don’t need to have a cell phone with one. Cell phone prices go up with additional special features it contains. So the key is to get what you need to have.

You can also wait for new products to come out, if you can, because cell phone manufacturers often refresh their product line. And then, you can buy your desired model at a much conservative price. It’s not about getting the latest model all the time. A better deal is to wait for a year-end promotion or clearing-out sale.

WHERE TO BUY
It is recommended to buy directly from an authorized dealer. This way you are assured of a warranty. Many times, buyers who want to save more go to unauthorized vendors, losing a lot more in the process. Authorized dealers also sometimes give away freebies, so you can take advantage of that.

WATCH OUT FOR PROMOS
There are instances where cell phone manufacturers offer a package where if you purchase three or more units, the fourth one is free. Ask family members who are also in the look out for cell phone promos, and maybe you can get a better deal if there are four of you buying.

Buying is an experience so avoid the stress and just have fun in the process.
